“Chip off the Old Block” is a collection of musical rarities and previously unreleased material, all of which written in the last decade or so (2007-2017). Most, but not all, of the music was composed for various failed video game projects. Rather than let these tracks collect [proverbial] dust on my hard drive, I decided to release everything in a more digestible form. (Additionally, the album allows me a chance to tidy up my SoundCloud account.) I did clean up a few of the tracks (by applying some light audio polish), but most are largely untouched. Although, admittedly, not every track is a winner (you’ll surely hear some “growing pains” in this particular collection of music), I do see the value in archiving as much music as possible— even if there are a few “warts” in the bunch.

Ultimately, “Chip off the Old Block” presents the listener with an opportunity to examine my growth as a composer over the span of a decade. I sincerely hope you can find—at the very least—a little enjoyment out of this album, as a lot of these tracks are close to my heart still. Thank you for your support and, of course, for listening.
